2.1 This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on findmyschool.uk, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
2.2 This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use any personal data collected through cookies.
3. What cookies are
3.1 Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits and to store information such as your login state or preferences.
4. Categories of cookies we use
We group the cookies we use into two categories: strictly necessary and analytics.
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
4.1.1 Strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to function. Without them, features such as signing in, staying signed in, and remembering basic layout preferences for the dashboard would not work.

4.2 Analytics cookies
4.2.1 Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These cookies are not strictly necessary and are set only if you give consent through our cookie banner.
4.2.2 The analytics cookies we use are provided by Google Analytics 4. We have configured Google Analytics 4 to use IP-anonymisation features so that full IP addresses are not stored, and we have switched off Google Signals so that analytics data is not used for advertising purposes.

5. How we obtain your consent
5.1 The first time you visit findmyschool.uk, we display a cookie banner that asks for your consent before any analytics cookies are set.
5.2 We do not load or run Google Analytics before you have given consent. If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics remains disabled and only strictly necessary cookies are set.
5.3 The banner offers two equally prominent options:
- Accept: gives consent to analytics cookies.
- Reject: refuses consent to analytics cookies; only strictly necessary cookies will be set.
5.4 We record your choice in the findmyschool-consent cookie so we do not ask you again on every visit. The cookie expires after 12 months, after which we will ask again.
6. How to change or withdraw your consent
6.1 You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in our footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6.2 You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers offer controls under "Privacy" or "Cookies". Note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site (including signing in) will not work.
7. International transfers
