Schools in Belper

A market town of around 21,000 residents set within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, Belper grew from a medieval nail-making centre on the River Derwent into one of Derbyshire's earliest industrial settlements in the Amber Valley, some seven miles north of Derby. The textile mills established here in the late eighteenth century have shaped a conservation area that extends through the hamlets of Milford and Makeney.

Belper station sits on the Midland Main Line. Trains reach Derby in around fifteen minutes. Duffield, immediately to the south, is widely regarded as one of the area's most school-competitive postcodes, while Belper itself draws families seeking primary places, with Holbrook offering a quieter residential option.
