Schools in Falmouth

Founded in 1613 by the Killigrew family on the Carrick Roads, Falmouth grew as a working port on the River Fal, gradually overshadowing the older town of Penryn to the north. The railway's arrival in the nineteenth century brought tourism to the harbour town and shaped the residential neighbourhoods that now spread across Cornwall's southwestern headland. Around 24,000 people live in the parish today, with the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and a Falmouth University campus anchoring Falmouth Town Centre.

Trescobeas is among the most sought-after addresses for families competing for school places, while Mawnan Smith draws parents seeking smaller catchments to the south. Falmouth links to Truro by rail in around thirty minutes.
