Communication was equally deliberate. Staff repeated words, introduced vocabulary and used questions that prompted children to remember and think. A fresh-fruit snack and a weekly featured fruit, including pineapple and mango at the inspection, broadened tastes, while real vegetables in the home corner added sensory and practical play.

One limitation was clear. Parts of the older children's indoor environment were not inviting enough to help children choose resources and direct their own learning; an underused literacy table with four pencils was the example. Sharper planning of the learning environment was recommended.

Relationships were a strength at the March 2024 inspection. Children settled quickly, staff understood them as individuals and adults intervened promptly when children needed help regulating their behaviour. Timers gave children a visible way to share resources and take turns. These are small techniques, but they make expectations understandable rather than abstract.

Independence was built into routines. Children washed their hands, wiped their noses and began learning to put on their coats. Parents reported warm relationships, useful communication and information about learning and development. Weekly staff meetings gave the team space to raise concerns and share learning from training, while management sought feedback from both parents and staff.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective in March 2024, and the inspection described an open culture centred on children's interests. The same report found that curriculum adaptations included children with SEND and children who spoke English as an additional language. That is stronger evidence than a generic promise: it links inclusion to the learning actually planned for individual children.
