Books, conversation and purposeful play defined this nursery's character at its April 2022 inspection. Ofsted judged it Good, finding children happy, secure and keen to learn. The setting at Lakeside Centre, Bazalgette Way, London SE2 9AN has capacity for 58 children.
This is an inspection-led profile because no verified provider website is available. The dated findings give a useful picture of educational practice, care and safeguarding at the visit, but the practical offer should be checked with the nursery.
In April 2022, language ran through the curriculum. Cosy reading areas encouraged children to choose favourite stories, while attentive conversations and questions extended communication. This is the Early Years Foundation Stage in practical form: play, stories and adult interaction build the communication, physical and personal skills children need before school.
The detail was specific. Children compared sounds at a music station, took part in daily yoga and developed physical confidence on steps and wheeled vehicles in the garden. They could select resources and help with simple tasks, supporting independence as well as concentration.
In April 2022, staff knew children well and parents valued information about care routines. Children with special educational needs and disabilities received individual plans, developed with parents and outside agencies, and additional funding was used to support them.
Safeguarding was effective at the inspection. Staff understood child-protection procedures and wider risks, supported by recruitment, vetting, induction and supervision arrangements.
The nursery is based at Lakeside Centre on Bazalgette Way in Thamesmead. Current accepted ages, rooms, opening hours, attendance patterns, funding arrangements, meals and consumables need verification from the setting; none should be inferred from its full-day-care classification.
The strongest fit is for families who value books, conversation, outdoor movement and carefully planned SEND support. The 2022 evidence shows a calm, engaging nursery with effective safeguarding, balanced by clear improvement points around transitions and individual targets. Suitability for any particular attendance pattern cannot be judged from the available session evidence.
