In February 2024, children made outings beyond the setting into several nearby community spaces. Parents were also invited to share stories in their home languages, connecting family language with children's developing English.

Relationships were a practical strength in February 2024: inspectors saw established staff bonds helping newly enrolled children adjust well. Practitioners knew children well, planned challenging next steps and supported independence in self-care, sharing and turn-taking. Timers helped children understand when a turn would come, and adults intervened promptly when children needed help regulating behaviour.

Safeguarding was effective at the 2024 inspection. Parents received regular opportunities to discuss learning, and the small staff team met daily. Two priorities remained: staff needed to hold back longer when difficulties arose so children could test their own ideas, and help them understand more clearly how their actions affect other people.

• Independent problem-solving. Adult help sometimes arrived too readily for children to try out a solution of their own. Families can explore how practitioners now balance encouragement with allowing productive struggle.
