The setting's strongest character comes from warm relationships and purposeful outdoor learning. Children were keen to learn, settled quickly with responsive staff and used the outdoor area for bicycles, trampolines, vegetable growing and bug hunts.

The Early Years Foundation Stage shapes the educational programme, linking play and adult guidance to children's communication, physical development, personal development and wider learning. Here, staff tailor activities to children's interests, starting points and next steps, balancing child-led exploration with adult direction.

Outdoor learning carries real weight. Children collected and counted insects accurately, planted and cared for vegetables, and developed large movements through cycling and trampoline play. Indoors, scooping sand into small containers strengthened fine-motor control, while older children practised dressing for outdoors and handwashing. These are practical routes into number, coordination and independence.

That inspection also identified one weakness: transitions sometimes left children waiting while staff prepared routines or activities. Some children then disengaged and their behaviour could be affected. Better-organised changeovers were the stated improvement priority.

Relationships are a clear strength. Staff responded promptly to children's needs, helping them feel safe and ready to explore. They modelled and narrated language during play, and used key words from children's home languages when supporting children learning English as an additional language.

Support for children with SEND was judged good. Knowledgeable staff adapted activities and provided one-to-one help, while the manager holds a level 6 qualification in special educational needs and the wider team has knowledge of special needs. Parents also had effective relationships with staff and other professionals.

Children bring healthy food and packed lunches from home; food cannot be purchased at the setting. Families should include that daily preparation in their routine.

Sessions and Attendance

Private part-time sessions run from 9am to 12pm or 12pm to 3pm. Funded patterns include those morning and afternoon sessions plus a 9am to 3pm term-time day, depending on entitlement. The setting also describes days and times as flexible around parents' needs.

Free Early Education is offered for eligible two-, three- and four-year-olds, including 15- and 30-hour entitlements. Private additional hours sit separately from funded provision.
