In March 2024, staff built the curriculum around children’s interests and next steps, with a balance of adult-led activity and independent play. The published observations included children riding bicycles, using trampolines, caring for plants and collecting insects to count. Physical confidence, care for living things and early number work were woven into outdoor time.

The Early Years Foundation Stage, or EYFS, is the statutory framework for children from birth to five. In practice, it shapes a nursery day through play, conversation, routines and age-appropriate activities rather than a school-style timetable.
