The environments observed in July 2023 helped children remain absorbed in their play. Older children exchanged ideas about their work, while babies watched and copied their peers. Staff reviewed children's changing interests and planned meaningful activities, allowing children to revisit ideas instead of constantly moving to something new.

Routines carried learning too. Babies learned to straighten a construction-area rug and return resources to the correct boxes, while staff reinforced sharing, turn-taking and care for the environment. Regular local walks helped children learn about their community; when the outdoor space was unavailable at the inspection, daily park visits and indoor exercise provided physical activity.

Key persons knew their children well in July 2023 and identified development needs promptly. Children with SEND received suitable resources and one-to-one help where needed, while parents reported regular development updates through an online portal. Practitioners worked together and adjusted planning around children’s changing interests, linking individual knowledge to what happened next in play.

Well-established routines supported calm relationships. Children shared, took turns and showed consideration for others; babies copied peers and older children discussed their ideas with one another. Those details matter because confidence was expressed through action and conversation, not simply an inspection label.

Safeguarding was effective at the July 2023 inspection. At that inspection, staff understood how to identify and report concerns, the safeguarding lead followed concerns up promptly, and indoor hazard checks took place daily. Most staff modelled clear spoken English, although inspectors asked leaders to improve some practitioners' pronunciation of key words because it confused some children.
