Physical experiences were equally purposeful. Children developed strength and coordination through climbing, steps and movement linked to physiotherapy targets. Kitchen role play and experiments with cars on a ramp supported exploration and interaction.

Respectful relationships carried the 2022 provision. Staff worked with parents, carers and other agencies from initial assessment onwards, then used observation to set targeted challenges. The report found that this partnership extended through the education, health and care plan pathway and into detailed transitions both into and out of the playgroup.

Communication support was embedded in play and routines. Staff introduced vocabulary during activities, responded to children's attempts to communicate and used reference objects to make transitions clearer. At snack time children made choices, adding a small but meaningful opportunity for independence.

The playgroup is based at URC Willettt Way, Petts Wood, Orpington, BR5 1LH. It operates as sessional provision rather than a full-day nursery.
