Outdoor activity carried equal weight. Children rode bicycles, jumped between logs and climbed equipment. These experiences developed balance and coordination, while encouragement to find lunch boxes and put on shoes built everyday independence.

Relationships were a strength at the inspection. Good attachments and established routines helped children feel secure and understand what came next. Staff identified individual needs and next steps, worked with other professionals and managed existing or emerging care needs. Ofsted found that children with SEND and disadvantaged children made good progress.

Risk was taught in accessible language. Staff explained what could happen if a chair was used carelessly, then supported children to follow instructions and manage risk. Safeguarding arrangements were effective in July 2024, within an open culture centred on children’s interests.

Parents who contributed were positive about teaching, care and communication, and felt supported in their parenting roles. This gives families useful inspection-time evidence about partnership, rather than a promise about every current interaction.
