Rainbow Garden for the youngest children, Drive Garden for older ones, and a former Victorian school building give More2Childcare a recognisable character. This Greenwich nursery combines outdoor play with a baby room that has an adjoining space for sleep and quiet. Those are useful differences for families weighing both an active day and somewhere their baby can rest.
Ofsted rated the nursery Outstanding on 28 July 2023. It welcomes children from 3 months to 4 years and has capacity for 100 children in total. Capacity describes the whole setting, rather than the number sharing a room or attending together.
Behind the building's double-height ceilings and large windows is an offer built around play, physical development and communication in different languages. Families also become More2Members, with access to training and local discounts. Standard full-day bookings and shorter ad hoc arrangements serve different attendance needs; the commitment attached to each matters as much as the opening hours.
The baby room's adjoining sleep and quiet room gives rest a separate place beside the main activity space. For parents choosing care for a very young child, that physical arrangement deserves attention alongside the gardens and learning activities.
In July 2023, babies explored sensory resources and made marks across large pieces of paper with hands and tools. Toddlers combined water play with a counting rhyme about ducks. Preschool children used pipettes and tubes to investigate mixtures, watching changes and talking through their ideas. These examples show how different stages can approach learning through movement, handling materials and conversation, rather than relying on the same activity for everyone.
The EYFS framework shapes learning through play and attention to each child's interests and stage of development. Alongside that shared early-years foundation, More2Childcare adds STEAM, bringing science, technology, engineering, arts and maths into its curriculum, together with an emphasis on movement and multilingual communication. The value lies in connecting different kinds of exploration, rather than treating learning as separate lessons.
In July 2023, mathematics and understanding the world featured in the learning programme. Books also had a substantial place in the day: younger children listened to stories, while older children recognised letters and practised writing their names when ready. This is a useful combination for families who want early literacy to develop alongside investigation and play.
Two on-site playgrounds separate outdoor provision by age. Rainbow Garden is designed for under-2s; Drive Garden serves children over 2. Climbing equipment, sensory activities and materials that children can use in different ways support both movement and exploration. Garden access happens at least twice daily, although babies may go out less often around their sleep routines.
Gardening and forest school activities, which bring learning into outdoor exploration, are part of everyday provision. Access to The Forum's Soft Play, sports hall and gardens adds further physical spaces beyond the nursery's own playgrounds. These additional spaces extend the opportunities for physical play beyond the nursery's own playgrounds.
The Family app connects parents with photographs, observations and daily information about eating and sleeping. It makes the practical detail of the day easier to follow alongside what a child has been learning. For a baby, sleep and meal updates can be especially useful when linking nursery routines with home.
In July 2023, staff shared children's next learning steps with parents and supplied activity packs for use at home. Practitioners also used calm conversation and praise when helping children manage emotions and behaviour. These were concrete ways of joining care and learning: understanding a child's response to a difficult situation mattered alongside planning the next activity.
More2Members is the group-wide membership offer available to families here, providing free or lower-cost courses and discounts with local businesses. More2Parents community coffee mornings add opportunities for families to connect. These benefits broaden the relationship beyond childcare itself, particularly for parents who want contact with other local families.
At its July 2023 inspection, Ofsted found safeguarding effective and praised the prompt coordination of outside support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, who made excellent progress from their starting points. Those findings belong to that inspection date. They provide a substantial basis for assessing care, alongside the practical arrangements families can discuss for their own child.
In July 2023, independence included washing hands, disposing of tissues and taking responsibility at mealtimes. Children served food, cleared leftovers and cleaned their faces. These small tasks connect everyday care with preparation for greater independence; school preparation extends beyond recognising letters or writing a name.
Zebedees, an early-years catering company, supplies freshly prepared meals, with dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences accommodated. Standard full-day fees cover drinks and snacks as well as breakfast, lunch and tea; families supply formula, nappies and wipes.
The address is The Forum At Greenwich, Trafalgar Road, London SE10 9EQ, with the nursery at the rear of The Forum. Opening hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. It operates for 50 weeks annually, closing on bank holidays and for a summer staff-training week and a week between Christmas and New Year.
Standard full days run from 8am to 6pm. Bookings require at least three days and must include Monday or Friday, so the regular arrangement asks families to commit to a substantial weekly pattern. Standard bookings using 30-hour funding also require a minimum of three full days across the year.
Flexi-Ad hoc Childcare provides a separate pay-as-you-go arrangement with no tie-in. Its options include two-hour bookings, mornings from 8am to 1pm, afternoons from 1pm to 6pm and full days from 8am to 6pm. This separates occasional childcare from the regular booking commitment rather than making every family fit the same pattern.
Maze Hill mainline station is just five minutes’ walk away, with access also to Greenwich DLR and North Greenwich Underground. The connections are useful for families travelling towards London Bridge, Canary Wharf or the City.
Funded childcare is offered alongside private bookings. The 30-hour funding arrangement applies to working parents who meet the eligibility criteria, while completely free 15-hour arrangements for children aged 3 and 4 follow term-time mornings from 9am to noon or afternoons from 1pm to 4pm. More2Childcare also offers together for two’s places.
Standard funded booking costs include chargeable extras. Families should obtain a current written quotation that separates their funded hours from additional paid childcare and those extras. For standard full-day fees, food and drinks are included, while nappies, wipes and formula come from home.
More2Childcare suits families who value separate outdoor spaces for younger and older children, a dedicated place for babies to rest, and learning that combines play with physical activity and communication. Its Outstanding judgement from July 2023 gives the offer a strong inspection foundation, while the building and gardens give it a clear practical character.
The attendance range is important: regular full days, shorter ad hoc mornings or afternoons, and funded term-time sessions answer different needs. The best fit depends on whether the standard weekly commitment or a shorter arrangement matches family life. Membership benefits and parent coffee mornings add another reason to choose it for families seeking local connections alongside childcare.
