The clearest picture is therefore of leaders' preparation rather than an established daily experience. Their plans included child-led learning, visits to local parks and the local allotment, and routines intended to build confidence and independence.

Leaders described an Early Years Foundation Stage offer built around planned and child-led experiences across all areas of learning. In everyday terms, that means using children's interests, observations and next steps to shape activities rather than working through one fixed programme.

Local parks and the local allotment were identified as places for widening children's experiences and developing communication, physical and social skills. The practical value depends on how those plans now work in children's weekly routines.

In June 2026, leaders explained the procedures they would use to identify and report safeguarding concerns. They also understood the need for regular checks of premises, resources and outings, alongside accurate attendance, accident and incident records. The Expected standard applies to leadership and governance only; it is not a judgement of children's lived experience because none were present or on roll.

Their intended care routines covered close supervision at mealtimes, careful allergy management and regular sleep checks for babies and young children. Leaders also described adapting activities and routines for children with special educational needs or disabilities, and working with parents, professionals and external agencies.

The setting is at 18 Gisburn Road in Hornsey and has capacity for 45 children.
