Palace For All

Palace For All is a holiday playscheme built around children who need thoughtful, individual support. At its July 2025 inspection, it cared primarily for children with special educational needs and disabilities, and Ofsted found that the provision met requirements. Safeguarding arrangements were effective.

The setting has capacity for 41 children at The Markfield Project on Markfield Road. The inspection covered children aged four to 18, making this an out-of-school service rather than a conventional day nursery.

The strongest evidence is of choice. In July 2025, children could run, climb, balance, use swings and ride a zip wire in the large outdoor area. Those less able to join the physical play had alternatives including large ball pools and a sensory room. That range gave children different routes into an enjoyable day.

Creative work was adapted too. A canopy over a sensory activity table made the space feel more enclosed, helping children who preferred that environment to concentrate. Staff followed children's interests in planning and supported painting and model-making with calm demonstrations.

For children within the early-years age range, the statutory framework is the Early Years Foundation Stage. In practical terms, it organises learning across seven areas, including communication, physical development and personal, social and emotional development, while requiring care and teaching to respond to the individual child. The inspection described that principle in action through tailored communication, physical activity, creative work and emotional support.

Communication was a clear strength at the July 2025 inspection. Staff watched body language, listened carefully and patiently helped children express themselves. They named emotions, validated feelings and encouraged kindness, giving children who communicate differently a better chance to feel understood.

SEND support shaped the whole service rather than sitting at its edge. High staffing levels during the inspection allowed close attention, while a key-person system connected families with staff who knew each child's care needs. Some staff also worked at children's schools and exchanged information with teachers, supporting continuity between settings.

Mealtimes were carefully supervised. Parents supplied packed lunches, drinks were available, and staff managed dietary needs, allergies, intolerances and medication. Children washed their hands before eating and staff checked for choking risks.

The playscheme operates from The Markfield Project, Markfield Road, London N15 4RB. The July 2025 report recorded holiday operation across four summer weeks, Easter and half terms, with hours of 10.30am to 3.30pm. These are inspection-time arrangements rather than a current booking promise.

At that inspection, children travelled from home in minibuses with staff support and returned the same way. Current transport coverage and handover arrangements may differ.

• Holiday-only pattern. The inspected model ran in specified school holidays rather than throughout the year. Confirm the current weeks and whether they match the periods when your family needs support.
• Age and support fit. The inspection group ranged from four to 18 and the service primarily supported children with SEND. Ask how activities, personal care and communication support would be tailored to your child.
• Transport arrangements. Minibus travel was part of the inspected day. Check the current catchment, escort support and handover arrangements for your address.
• Packed lunches. Families supplied lunch at the inspection. Discuss allergies, food texture needs and current expectations before the first session.

Palace For All is best understood as a specialist holiday playscheme, not full-year nursery care. Its appeal lies in inclusive activity and close support: energetic outdoor play sits beside a sensory room, ball pools and a calmer canopied workspace. It suits families seeking supported days during summer, Easter or half-term holidays, especially where a child benefits from attentive communication and adaptable activities.
