Stanmore Montessori

Those examples show staff using children's interests while still teaching specific knowledge.

Outdoor Life

The one-acre secluded garden is a substantial physical asset, not just an outdoor corner. In July 2022, children used an outdoor number line, tackled obstacle races and joined games that developed coordination. Relationships and Communication

The July 2022 evidence describes children forming very strong bonds with adults, and staff used detailed knowledge of each child to tailor teaching. Settling-in followed individual routines. That combination matters for children who need predictability before they are ready to explore, talk and learn.

Communication was a particular strength at that inspection. Adults modelled new vocabulary, asked questions that prompted explanation and repeated or extended children's words. Older children were confident enough to discuss authors, illustrations and rhyming language. Parents were kept informed about progress and next steps, helping learning continue at home.

Inclusion and Wellbeing

Support for emotional regulation was concrete. Younger children used an open palm to signal that they were waiting for a toy, while adults taught controlled breathing when feelings became difficult. Weekly mindfulness and relaxation sessions involved children of all ages. The July 2022 account also records close work with outside agencies for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The July 2022 safeguarding judgement was effective. Staff understood indicators that a child might be at risk, knew reporting procedures and received regular training. Sessions and Attendance

The booking model is compact and term-time. Morning School runs Monday to Friday from 08:45 to 12:15. Afternoon School runs from 12:00 to 14:45, and children may stay all day from 08:45 to 14:45. The nursery says it can offer 30 hours per week. The 14:45 finish defines the limit for families needing late-afternoon care.

The attendance and fees page says termly fees are payable before each term, with a full term's written notice required before leaving. Funding and Paid Extras

The nursery publishes 15 funded hours a week across 38 weeks for children aged three and four, and says funding for some two-year-olds is available in certain circumstances.
