Relationships were a strength at the 2023 inspection. Staff helped children separate from parents, encouraged families to share care information and maintained warm communication. Daily information boards, newsletters and a group app were being used to keep families aware of activities, while sports day and a nursery picnic gave parents ways to take part.

Support for children with SEND was a standout finding. The team had created an early-intervention area and worked with families, health colleagues and local-authority staff. Picture timetables, now-and-next boards and simple spoken phrases helped children understand routines. Planned attention-and-listening groups added a focused route into participation for children needing extra help.

Ofsted found safeguarding arrangements effective in June 2023. Staff understood how to raise concerns, leaders refreshed knowledge through regular discussion, and the team checked which children were inside or outdoors. Daily building and garden safety checks added a practical layer to those procedures.
