At the April 2023 inspection, staff checked children's starting points closely and adapted purposeful activities around individual needs.

The examples make that approach tangible. Children matched and traced numerals with toy cars, estimated how many blocks would make a tower as tall as an adult, and explored which nuts fitted which bolts during fine-motor work. Younger children painted on large sheets with their hands and broad brushes, developing the muscles that later support writing. Stories and reference books were available across learning areas, while staff modelled words, extended vocabulary and supported children with speech delay or English as an additional language.

Culture is treated as something children participate in. During Eid, children wore traditional clothes, made hats and created henna patterns; books in other languages and family contributions broadened that work. The provider also publishes recurring World Book Day, Gardening Day, Sports Day, Multicultural Day and graduation events across its settings. These give families useful reference points for asking how the Hayes calendar works in practice.

The outdoor area carried real responsibility in 2023. Children followed established rules, helped with daily safety checks and took managed risks. That links physical confidence to judgement rather than treating outdoor time simply as a break from learning.

The 2023 inspection found children exceptionally settled, confident and cooperative. Staff encouraged them to talk about feelings and understand how their actions affected others. Children invited friends into den play, shared books and took turns, evidence of relationships being taught through everyday choices rather than abstract rules.

Support for individual development was a particular strength. Staff understood children's backgrounds and starting points, shared observations within the team and adjusted plans for children with special educational needs or disabilities. The provider also publishes a designated safeguarding lead and deputy structure, secure intercom entry, accompanied visitors and regular staff training. Ofsted found safeguarding effective in April 2023, with staff able to recognise concerns, follow reporting procedures and use risk assessment carefully.

Parents receive real-time updates through an app, termly development meetings with the child's key person and home-learning books. Family sessions include paediatric first aid, sleep and play workshops. That creates several routes for families to understand progress and contribute knowledge from home.

Meals and snacks are prepared on the premises each day. Menus emphasise fruit and vegetables, minimal fat and sugar, no added salt, and alternatives for dietary or religious requirements. Parents receive feedback about food intake on request.

Sessions and Attendance

The Hayes nursery is at Jupiter House, 150 Trevor Road, Hayes, UB3 1RZ. It opens 8am to 6pm on weekdays. The current provider record describes an all-year setting closed on bank holidays.

Funded-hours patterns include mornings, afternoons, full days and stretched attendance across the year. Only the full-day window is published: morning and afternoon clock times are agreed during registration. Funding and Paid Extras

The nursery offers 15 funded hours for eligible two- and three-year-olds, the universal 15 hours for three- and four-year-olds, and the 30-hour entitlement for eligible working families. Funded hours are free at the point of access, with no top-up, registration, deposit, learning-resource, activity, fruit or teatime-snack charge attached to them.

Hot lunch is an optional paid extra during funded hours, and families may instead provide a packed lunch. Parents provide nappies, wipes and cream.
