Practitioners extend learning through modelling language, questions, explanations and challenges rather than relying on a fixed sequence for every child.

The enrichment timetable is unusually concrete. Physical Activities with Sports Trust runs on Monday and Thursday mornings, Ballet with Ballet School on Tuesday, Music with Music House on Wednesday, and yoga and Pilates on Friday. Each is published as an hour-long session, giving children repeated opportunities for movement, coordination, listening and participation across the week.

In June 2025, staff adapted activities for different ages. Younger children learned songs with musical instruments and small-world objects, while older children discussed story characters, summarised plots and predicted what might happen next. Puppets, toys and real food supported this language work. Children also solved how to melt ice blocks to release trapped objects and used coloured markers to design clothes for a fashion show.

Outdoor Life

The enclosed garden is used for daily outdoor play. In June 2025, staff turned children's curiosity about the garden into nature learning and encouraged respect for living things. Active outdoor play sat alongside this work, supporting physical development as well as closer attention to the natural world.

Children have a key person, and the nursery asks families to share their child's starting points. Staff then observe children and assess what they need to learn next. In June 2025, children settled happily, included friends and adults in their play, and received regular praise. Turn-taking, sharing and helping with routines, such as sweeping sand and setting the table, built independence alongside learning.

Communication and language were a clear strength at the June 2025 inspection. Staff repeated object names clearly with younger children and used familiar stories to stretch older children's discussion. All children made good progress in this area at the June 2025 visit.

The same report identified two next steps. Staff did not always make the intended learning clear enough in some planned activities for older children, reducing their value. Parents were also not always told their child's next learning steps or how to extend them at home. These are specific points for families to explore, especially those choosing the setting for an older preschool child.

Children bring a packed lunch when attending all day, and staff encourage families to provide nutritious food. The illness policy says children who become unwell are sent home and describes measures for allergies and infection control. Sessions and Attendance

Warwick Pre-School operates during term time from Monday to Friday. Published sessions run from 9am to 1pm and from 1pm to 3pm, while a whole day runs from 9am to 3pm. The setting closes for school holidays.
