At the December 2024 inspection, earthworm discoveries, conversations about tools and regular library trips gave children's learning a practical, everyday character. At its December 2024 inspection, Ofsted rated the provision Good and judged safeguarding effective. The strongest detail is about how children learn through ordinary experiences, rather than elaborate programmes.
The Nottingham setting has 50 places in total and accepts children aged 9 to 48 months. Its address is 21 Bestwood Park Drive West, NG5 5EJ.
The early years foundation stage is the framework for children's learning, development and care: play and everyday routines become opportunities to develop language, independence and physical skills.
In December 2024, outdoor play included climbing, running and wheeled toys. Digging in soil brought children into contact with earthworms, giving staff an immediate reason to introduce words about movement. Another outdoor exchange linked naming a digging tool with finding the equipment needed for a task. These are concrete examples of vocabulary connected to something children can do and understand.
Community experiences widened that learning. In December 2024, regular library outings encouraged an interest in stories, while visits from the police and fire brigade introduced people with helping roles. Neither experience depended on a complicated activity: books and familiar community services supplied the subject matter.
Teaching also had a clear limitation. In December 2024, adults sometimes delayed helping a child who had become stuck, and the child consequently lost interest. More timely intervention was an improvement priority, making sustained participation an important point for families to explore.
In December 2024, the key-person arrangement was supported by continuity in the staff team. Information gathered from parents at the start helped practitioners understand children's starting points and identify additional support needs. Assessments then informed subsequent activities.
Signs and pictures helped some children manage changes between activities in December 2024. This gave routines a visual structure, including the move from outdoor play back indoors. Sharing resources and taking turns were practised alongside gentle reminders about safe behaviour.
Mealtimes offered practical independence work in December 2024: younger children practised with spoons, while older children used knives and forks. Getting their own drinks and putting on coats also contributed to preparation for school.
Parent communication had a mixed picture in December 2024. Families received regular updates, but some wanted clearer guidance about continuing learning at home. Staff development and training were also part of the work on teaching practice.

In December 2024, the nursery operated throughout the year on weekdays, with opening hours of 7.30am to 6pm. At that time, it also provided funded early education for children from nine months to four years. These are dated operating details, rather than a current booking promise.
Bella Bambini Day Nursery suits families who value everyday independence, outdoor exploration and links with community services. Its December 2024 provision combined these experiences with a Good judgement. The decision deserves attention to two concrete points: how promptly staff support a struggling child, and how clearly parents are helped to continue learning at home.
