Play dough, story sessions and trips to choose library books gave Nik-Naks Daycare a practical, hands-on character in July 2025. At its 17 July 2025 inspection, Ofsted judged the nursery Good, found safeguarding effective and reported good learning progress, with targeted help for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Based on School Road in Bulkington, Bedworth, the nursery accepts children aged two to five and has 50 places in total. Those are whole-nursery places, rather than the size of an individual group.
The early years foundation stage sets the framework for children's learning, development and care: here, July 2025 activities combined play, conversation and practical skills. Toddlers helped make play dough, taking turns while staff introduced words for its texture. Preschool children chose between drawing at art easels, construction play and board games with adults. These gave children different ways to explore ideas and practise cooperation.
Language threaded through the day in July 2025. Singing and dancing engaged toddlers, while preschool children recalled stories and used instruments during songs. Physical play included supervised outdoor bouncing on a bouncy castle and an indoor beanbag game requiring careful aim.
Community experiences extended learning beyond the nursery in July 2025. Regular visits involved choosing library books and buying resources at a nearby charity shop; a park picnic and transport museum trip had also taken place. These were concrete opportunities to encounter books, places and everyday transactions.
In July 2025, children followed familiar routines for group activities, eating and sleep. Staff helped preschool children recognise feelings and express them, giving emotional vocabulary a place alongside everyday nursery rules. Where behaviour needed additional attention, adults communicated with families and relevant professionals.
Support was personalised in July 2025: staff used targeted plans, worked with parents and involved external professionals for children needing additional help. Individual food menus could also be arranged. Routine conversations kept parents informed about their child's day, and graduation celebrations included families.

Nik-Naks Daycare merits consideration for families seeking weekday, year-round childcare for children aged two to five.
