Our Little Angelz

At a Glance

Emotion monsters, spaghetti exploration and a garden playhouse give this Solihull nursery a recognisable character: feelings, practical independence and imaginative play were all part of children's experiences in June 2025. Small everyday activities carried much of the learning.

At its June 2025 inspection, Ofsted rated Our Little Angelz Good and judged safeguarding effective. The nursery has capacity for 42 children and accepts children aged 0 to 60 months.

The Nursery Experience

The early years foundation stage sets the framework for children's learning, development and care, with play supporting communication, physical skills and growing independence.

In June 2025, babies explored spaghetti using bowls and utensils, practising movements useful for feeding themselves. Drawing interests prompted staff to introduce creative materials around the room, giving children opportunities to develop hand control for later writing. Stories and songs supported language development.

Garden play gave children room to invent shared stories. In June 2025, the playhouse became an ice-cream shop, while bikes featured in journeys to an imaginary school. These were opportunities to practise taking roles and playing together. Teaching sometimes needed to take children's existing knowledge further, rather than leaving an activity's learning possibilities partly unexplored.

Care and Support

At the June 2025 inspection, Ofsted found that staff worked with families and professionals to provide targeted support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, helping them make progress.

In June 2025, older children used emotion monsters to indicate their feelings by matching their photograph to a coloured character. Staff used those choices to recognise who needed help settling. Gentle conversation and reassurance also supported children getting ready for sleep.

Parents received learning updates and ideas to try at home, while parents' evenings provided time with their child's key person. Staff had supervision meetings and opportunities to discuss training. Mealtimes also offered practice in independence: children poured drinks and handled cutlery alongside friends and adults.

Practical Information

The address is 1351 Yardley wood road, Solihull, B90 1JU. Opening hours are 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and the nursery operates all year.

In June 2025, the nursery provided government-funded early education. This is a dated account of its funding provision, rather than a promise of an individual child's entitlement.

Things to Consider

  • Group behaviour. In June 2025, inconsistent boundaries sometimes allowed excitement to interrupt other children's learning. Ask how staff now establish shared expectations during group activities.
  • Extending learning. Teaching in June 2025 did not consistently develop what children could already do. Look for examples of how an activity is adapted to give a child an appropriate next challenge.
  • Attendance and funded costs. The all-year opening window may be useful for working families. Before joining, ask which booking patterns and funded arrangements would fit your week, including the treatment of meals and consumables.

The Verdict

Our Little Angelz suits families seeking all-year care who value practical independence, imaginative outdoor play and communication about their child's development. Its June 2025 Good judgement gives a positive overall assessment, with clear work to do on consistent boundaries and extending learning. The most useful visit discussion would connect those improvement points to everyday activities.
