Relationships were a clear strength in March 2022. Children formed secure bonds with staff and friendships with one another, while parents praised communication and their children's progress. Staff promoted independence throughout the day: children poured water, used cutlery, served themselves, cleared plates and put on coats and wellies before going outside.

Snack preparation also became learning. One fruit-preparation routine combined self-care, conversation and early mathematics. It made an ordinary snack a useful opportunity for children to practise independence and think together.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective at the March 2022 inspection. Staff knew how to identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, while safer staffing processes reinforced this. The report's second improvement point was to sharpen training further so staff continued building confidence, knowledge and skill.
