In May 2023, babies exchanged early sounds with staff, toddlers developed vocabulary through imaginative garden play, and children learning English heard words repeated with clear pronunciation. The oldest children sustained concentration while mixing ingredients to make dough. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the educational areas, while the nursery chooses how to teach them. Communication, physical development and personal development were built through play, conversation and everyday routines rather than formal lessons. For a parent, the practical strength is continuity: early vocal exchanges, imaginative play and sustained concentration form one developmental sequence rather than isolated activities.

At the same inspection, staff planned from children's ages, stages, interests and abilities. Babies used suitable cutlery and toddlers washed their hands independently, making self-care part of learning. During breakfast, however, some staff were occupied with tasks while children played without adult interaction. Ofsted consequently asked leaders to deploy staff so that more opportunities to extend learning were used.

In May 2023, babies settled quickly to sleep when practitioners recognised tiredness and offered gentle reassurance. Children formed strong bonds, minor disagreements were handled calmly, and pre-start visits helped newcomers settle. Leaders also identified children who might need additional support and monitored them closely. Staff induction, regular supervision and access to training formed part of the leadership approach, while practitioners spoke positively about support for their wellbeing. Parents valued the care, the information gathered before a child started and the settling visits.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective at that inspection, and staff showed strong knowledge of signs of abuse and how to raise concerns. A September 2023 welfare action concerning the identification, management and timely sharing of safeguarding concerns was subsequently met. After a separate medication-procedure issue, Ofsted recorded in December 2023 that the provider had investigated, enhanced administration procedures and strengthened medication storage processes. Both matters were resolved, but parents can reasonably ask how these revised procedures work now.

• Staff deployment. The May 2023 inspection found missed learning opportunities when staff were occupied with breakfast tasks. Ask how deployment is organised across care routines and child-led play today.
• Parent communication. Newer staff had not yet developed strong professional relationships with parents in May 2023. Families should establish who will share developmental updates and how often.
• Revised safety procedures. The later safeguarding action was met and medication processes were strengthened. Parents whose child needs medication should discuss the current handover, administration and storage procedure.
• The weekly package. Establish the sessions sold, minimum booking pattern, closures, funded-entitlement delivery and treatment of meals and consumables before comparing the offer with another nursery.

The strongest evidence is relational: in May 2023, babies were soothed responsively, older children concentrated deeply, and language teaching ran from babbling through imaginative play. The Good judgement is meaningful, but the same report exposed weaknesses in deployment and parent communication, followed by two later regulatory matters that Ofsted recorded as addressed.

This setting may suit families who value a nursery spanning babyhood to preschool and who are prepared to test current staffing, communication and practical terms carefully. The decision should wait until the nursery sets out the actual weekly package in writing, including whether genuinely different full-day or partial-day patterns can be booked.
