Nursery at Brampton Primary Academy

A nursery teacher and a phase teaching assistant give Brampton's nursery its own place within the primary school's teaching team. This is school-attached provision in Bexleyheath, on Brampton Road. For parents choosing an early start within a school setting, the nursery team and the wider inclusion arrangements are the useful starting points.
The school aims to build children's knowledge alongside their skills and attitudes, with preparation for the next stage of education among its goals.
Behaviour is treated as something children learn. Across Brampton, adults model the conduct they expect and teach routines explicitly. The school uses restorative principles, helping children reflect on choices and take responsibility. Its rules are Ready, Respectful and Responsible: a short vocabulary for discussing expectations with children.
Support extends beyond the nursery teaching team. Brampton has a SENCO and Inclusion Lead, alongside roles for family liaison and medical support. Parents with concerns about learning or development are directed first to their child's class teacher. That gives families a starting point for discussing additional help and how to support learning at home.
At school level, specialist partnerships include speech and language therapy through Oxleas, plus collaboration with Occupational Therapy, the Early Intervention Team and the ASD Advisory Service. These are relevant connections for families whose children need additional support with communication or development.
For children on the school's SEND register, the teacher and SENCO review progress and next steps three times a year. Parents can also seek SENCO advice during parents' evenings, and Brampton runs parent workshops. The practical benefit is a scheduled opportunity to revisit support as a child's needs change.
Family support includes work with Bexley's Children's Social Care. Parents seeking help can contact the office and request the Inclusion Lead and designated safeguarding lead.
Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must make a separate Reception application through their home local authority's admissions team. Treat the nursery choice and the later school application as separate decisions.
For the September 2026 intake, applications closed on 15 January 2026. That deadline is past and belongs to that intake alone.
For children offered September 2026 places, familiarisation plans included a June parent meeting and a teddy bears' stay-and-play session, with home visits planned around June or July. The visits were intended to let families meet the Reception team and ask questions. These plans concerned familiarisation after an offer.
Contact admin@bramptonacademy.org or telephone 020 8303 2873 for enquiries. School tours can be booked through the same office, giving parents a direct route to meet staff before making their decision.
Brampton follows Bexley's recommended school holiday and term calendar. Five staff-training days are scheduled each academic year, and their dates can change with training requirements. Keep those dates in mind when planning family childcare.
