Schools in Buckingham

The county town of Buckinghamshire for more than seven centuries until Aylesbury claimed the role in the eighteenth century, Buckingham holds the compact market-town character of its long past. Sitting in the north of the county close to the Northamptonshire border, the town is home to Britain's first private university, which stands alongside the River Great Ouse at its historic core. Buckingham itself anchors the most school-competitive stretch of the district, Padbury is among the most sought-after villages for primary catchments, and Stowe draws families who value its parkland setting and educational associations. Finmere and Linden Village add to the outer arc. Around 14,000 people live in the area today, with coach services connecting the town to Milton Keynes, the nearest rail hub, twelve miles to the east.
