Play leads the day at Camrose, with adult-led activities adding structure rather than taking over. This is the nursery provision within Camrose Primary With Nursery in Edgware, for children from age three. Its place inside the school gives children access to a Foundation Stage approach shared with Reception, while the nursery remains a distinct starting point.
The environment spans classroom learning and an outdoor area that the school describes as continually changing and growing. That matters for young children who need movement, exploration and practical experience alongside stories and conversation. The school also encourages running, jumping, climbing, water and sand play, threading, drawing and modelling. Together, these activities exercise gross and fine motor skills while giving children useful language for what they see and do.
Camrose follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the national framework for learning from birth to five. Its seven areas begin with communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. Literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design build alongside them.
Children learn through play, exploration, activity and creative thinking, indoors and outside.
