Schools in Hatfield

Designated a New Town in 1948, Hatfield transformed from a Saxon settlement and Hatfield House into a modernist town twenty miles north of London. The A1(M) motorway runs beside it, and the railway station connects to King's Cross and St Pancras via Great Northern and Thameslink lines, reaching central London in roughly 30 minutes. De Havilland's aircraft factory, established in the 1930s, anchored employment until British Aerospace closed in the 1990s. Hatfield and Old Hatfield are among the most sought-after pockets for primary catchments, with Brookmans Park extending the school-competitive belt. The University of Hertfordshire now serves around 41,000 residents.
