Shapes became coronation crowns in All Saints’ Nursery: children used their knowledge of shape properties while making a collage in May 2023. That small example gives the provision its clearest character, connecting an idea children have learned with something they can make and explain.
The nursery belongs to All Saints CofE First School on Cheadle Road in Leek, a Church of England school within The Talentum Learning Trust. This is school-attached nursery provision, with early learning forming part of the school’s curriculum planning.
Learning has a planned sequence. In May 2023, leaders had considered both the content of early-years learning and the order in which children would encounter knowledge and skills. For parents, the useful distinction is between simply completing an activity and using it to practise something already introduced.
The crown collage illustrates that connection. Nursery children first explored shapes and their characteristics, then talked about them as they assembled their coronation artwork. Making and explaining worked together. The activity gave children a practical reason to use their mathematical learning, rather than leaving it as an isolated exercise.
Staff development sits within the trust’s support structure. Across its schools, staff are encouraged to undertake training and exchange expertise with colleagues, both within their own school and across the trust. External training providers are also used in some instances. This gives professional learning more than one route.
The trust’s learning networks bring teachers and leaders together to share resources, test initiatives and compare assessment judgements. These are arrangements for supporting staff practice, rather than evidence of an individual nursery practitioner’s qualification or a particular care routine. Their relevance is the opportunity for staff to draw on colleagues beyond their immediate team.
Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place at All Saints. Families must make a separate Reception application through the normal admissions route by the applicable deadline.
Treat the two decisions separately: choosing this nursery concerns your child’s early learning, while obtaining a Reception place requires another application. Familiarity with a school must not be mistaken for an entitlement to remain there.

The trust calendar gives families some concrete planning dates for autumn 2026. The October half-term break runs from 26 to 30 October; 2 November is a staff-only INSET day, and children’s term resumes on 3 November. The Christmas break runs from 21 December 2026 to 1 January 2027. These distinctions matter for childcare planning: a training day and a holiday both interrupt the ordinary school calendar.
