Nursery at Darlinghurst Academy

A third birthday marks the starting point for Darlinghurst Academy Nursery: children can join once they turn three. This is the academy's own nursery in Leigh-on-Sea, at Pavilion Drive, rather than a separate childcare setting. Its early years provision carries the name The Rockpool.
Tours and nursery applications are accepted throughout the year. That gives families flexibility over when to explore the provision and begin an application, rather than tying that first step to a single annual application window.
The Rockpool gives Darlinghurst's early years provision a distinct identity within the academy. Nursery belongs to that early years offer, so parents considering it are choosing provision within a primary-school setting.
Family information forms part of the nursery application. Parents provide their relationship to the child, an email address, and telephone numbers for home, work and mobile contact. The form also asks about looked-after status and relevant orders, with supporting documentation where applicable. These details give families a way to explain relevant circumstances when applying.
Where a child has a social worker, the application asks for that person's contact details. Service or Crown Family status also has a specific question, accompanied by a request for a Ministry of Defence letter.
Attending Darlinghurst's nursery does not guarantee a place in its Reception class. Nursery admission and Reception admission are separate: families need to apply again through the normal Reception process and meet the applicable deadline.
Treat the nursery decision and the later school application as two decisions. An accepted nursery application is not an offer of a Reception place, and a nursery tour does not replace the later application. This distinction matters when planning a child's next step: choosing the nursery should rest on the nursery provision itself, while the Reception application remains a separate task for the family.
Applications can be completed electronically or by hand, then returned by email or post. A birth certificate or passport copy is required, together with proof of address. The form distinguishes the current home address from a new or moving address and asks for the moving date, giving relocating families a place to record that change.
Sibling details have their own section, including the child's current school and year group. Families applying for more than one child must complete a separate form for each child. A parent also signs a declaration confirming parental responsibility and the accuracy of the information supplied.
