A priory settlement since the twelfth century, Leominster sits at the confluence of the River Lugg and the River Kenwater in north Herefordshire, the largest of the county's five market towns with around 12,000 residents. The rural parishes of Lucton and Kimbolton have long been school-competitive corners of the area, drawing families competing for primary places beyond the town itself, with Wigmore extending that interest towards the Shropshire hills.
