Nursery at Eldon Primary School
Last reviewed: October 2026 · Inspection data and key information above update regularly, however, this review below is refreshed bi-annually and may not reflect recent changes. Contact the nursery directly to confirm current arrangements. If you spot anything outdated or inaccurate, please let us know.
Robins and Owls give Eldon's nursery its own class identities, while Terrific Two's brings provision for two-year-olds into the school. This is school-attached early education in Edmonton, with a choice of morning or afternoon nursery sessions and a limited number of full-time places for working parents.
Eldon's wider ambition is for children to develop independence, resilience and confidence. The school also emphasises respect and equality of opportunity. These are its aims for children across the school, giving families a sense of the values surrounding the nursery.
The morning session runs from 8.30am to 11.30am; the afternoon runs from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. That makes the choice practical: families can fit nursery into either the first or second part of their day. Robins and Owls are the nursery class names.
For eligible working parents, the full-time arrangement has a different shape. Eldon offers 35 hours per week alongside the 30-hour entitlement, with a daily charge for the additional hour. Families choosing that arrangement need to account for the extra charged time as well as the funded entitlement.
Family support extends beyond the classroom. A Parent Support Officer provides guidance and support to families experiencing difficulties, giving parents a school contact for concerns that affect life at home. The contact address is Parentsupport@eldonprimary.enfield.sch.uk.
Safeguarding responsibilities apply across Eldon. The school states that every member of staff must act when a suspicion or disclosure suggests a child could be at risk. It also recognises equal rights to protection across differences including age, ability, language and religion. For nursery families, those principles place responsibility on the wider staff team.
Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must make a separate application through the normal Reception admissions process; choosing the nursery should remain a decision about nursery provision itself.
For September 2026 entry, the Reception application route was eAdmissions, with applications required before 15 January. That admissions cycle is now past. Keep the nursery decision and the later Reception application separate in your planning.
Morning and afternoon sessions are the standard nursery options. Full-time places for working parents are limited: eligibility is checked through Enfield Informed Families, and parents register their 30-hour code with the school office. Contact the school for current charges.
Terrific Two's applications are made in the term before a child turns two. Eligible families receive an Early Years Voucher code to bring to school, so that code is part of arranging the child's place.
