Nursery at Heathfield House School

A planned Nursery Class comes with an important qualification at Heathfield House: an opening was announced for September 2025, but in October 2025 leaders had decided against admitting three-year-olds at that time. No children aged three were enrolled when ISI visited on 14 to 16 October 2025. Families should distinguish the announced nursery opening from an operating class.
Heathfield House is an independent primary school for boys and girls in Chiswick. Its Early Years Site is at 26 Oxford Road North, separate from the main site in Heathfield Gardens. That distinction matters when arranging a visit or discussing where a child would attend.
The decision recorded in October 2025 means the school's existing early years activities cannot be presented as an account of a nursery child's day. The nursery announcement described a planned opening.
Communication across the school combines Itslearning, where teachers share photographs, resources and news, with Parentmail for important messages. Parents have three consultation evenings and two written reports each academic year. Staff can also meet parents at a time agreed together, giving families a route for discussing concerns between scheduled meetings.
Additional learning support at school can involve individual targets, tailored programmes and external specialists. Meetings with parents help review progress and agree goals. In October 2025, inspectors found that some school lessons needed better task adjustments for pupils with SEND. Leaders were asked to make support consistently precise so pupils could learn effectively. These findings concerned school lessons, not an observed nursery class.
School lunches are prepared either by a chef on the premises or by a local caterer and carry a separate charge. Breakfast Club provides toast, fruit and cereals. Families comparing childcare arrangements should distinguish these school meal options from the announced Nursery Class.
Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. Treat Reception admission as a separate step and apply through the school's normal registration process.
Applications to Heathfield House use a Registration Form. Places are offered in registration order; where a choice between prospective pupils is necessary, registered siblings of existing pupils receive priority. That sibling condition matters: it should not be read as an advantage attached to nursery attendance. Admissions enquiries go to admissions@heathfieldhouse.co.uk.
School extended childcare operates during term time, from 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and from 8am to 5pm on Friday, across both sites. Breakfast Club, After School Club and Twilight Club need no advance booking. These school arrangements should not be treated as confirmed nursery sessions.
Uniform applies from Nursery Class. Perry Uniform supplies it online, while the PTA holds second-hand sales each term. This gives families another way to obtain clothing.
The school offers the 15 hours Early Education Entitlement up to the term in which children reach five. Contact the school for current charges. A tour enquiry form provides a way to arrange a school visit with a member of the management team.
