Nursery at Tividale Hall Primary School

Ducklings and Cygnets give Tividale Hall’s nursery its own identity within the primary school on Regent Road in Tividale. The school’s age range starts at three. Morning and afternoon groups each have a three-hour session, giving families two distinct timings to consider when planning the rest of their child’s day.
Play and adult-guided learning both feature in the early years. At the April 2025 inspection, Ofsted identified effective early learning, with staff using conversations during activities to strengthen children’s language. That matters beyond learning new words: talking with an adult is part of the learning itself.
The early years learning environment supports emotional and social development alongside academic skills. In April 2025, most children were prepared for their next learning stage. The nursery curriculum page links an EYFS curriculum statement, placing this provision within the school’s early years foundation stage curriculum.
An animal visitor provides a concrete example of nursery activity. Children could see different animals and choose whether to hold them. Participation was optional. For a child cautious about unfamiliar creatures, that distinction allows observation as well as hands-on involvement.
A Nursery Induction Presentation gives families a resource for preparing for the start of nursery. Tapestry also appears on the nursery curriculum page. These are useful starting points for engaging with the nursery’s learning and induction information.
For additional needs, the school directs parents to its inclusion lead and provides links to a SEND Policy, SEN information report and Local Offer. Families can use those routes to discuss their child’s needs within the school’s support arrangements.
The wider specialist support team includes a SENCO, a family support worker and a wellbeing practitioner. Contact runs through the school office. This gives parents a practical route to the school’s specialist roles alongside their contact with nursery staff.
Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must make a separate Reception application through the normal admissions process: Sandwell Local Authority manages school admissions, while nursery applications go directly to Tividale Hall.
Keep the two applications separate in your planning. Completing the nursery registration form is the nursery route; it does not replace the later school application. The school’s admissions page directs families to Sandwell’s application guidance, which is the route to follow for Reception.
Morning Nursery runs from 8.45am until 11.45am; Afternoon Nursery runs from 12.30pm until 3.30pm. Each occupies a different part of the day, so the collection time matters as much as the start when arranging family routines.
Nursery enquiries go to the school office, and the admissions page provides a nursery registration form. Call 01384 254865 or email school.office1@tividalehall.sandwell.sch.uk to enquire about a place. Sandwell’s School Admissions Service does not handle nursery applications.
For calendar planning, the school’s term-date page links to Sandwell School Term Dates. Use that alongside the nursery session times when organising your child’s attendance.
