Learning about numbers starts in early years. At the inspection on 6 and 7 December 2023, the school’s structured mathematics curriculum began at this stage, and numeracy featured throughout children’s learning. For parents, this means mathematics was part of the early learning programme, rather than something reserved for later schooling.
Attending the nursery does not guarantee a Reception place at Mayflower Academy. Families must make a separate Reception application through the normal admissions process. Choosing the nursery and securing a school place are separate decisions.
