In June 2025, children across Deeplish Primary Academy’s early years enjoyed mathematics and developed enthusiasm for reading. The nursery forms part of the primary academy on Derby Street in Rochdale, bringing early education into a school setting. The academy is a state school with no religious character.
During the inspection on 3 and 4 June 2025, mathematics in the early years was enjoyable for children. That gives families a useful picture of the learning emphasis: mathematical learning includes enjoyment alongside the content children are learning.
Books are another focus. Early-years children developed enthusiasm for reading, with selected books and stories available through organised library areas. These physical spaces give reading a place within the learning environment, alongside mathematics.
Attending the nursery does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must apply separately through the normal Reception admissions process, meeting the deadline for the relevant application year. Choosing the nursery and obtaining a Reception place are separate decisions.
