Schools in Rugby

Warwickshire's second-largest town by population, Rugby stands on the eastern edge of the county near the borders with Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, with the River Avon looping through the surrounding countryside. The town's charter dates to 1255.

Rugby School, founded in 1567 and later the birthplace of the sport in 1823, gave the town a global identity, while a major railway junction that arrived in the mid-nineteenth century drove rapid industrial growth. Rugby Town Centre has long been one of the borough's most school-competitive areas, drawing families pursuing both primary and secondary places, while Newbold-on-Avon is equally sought-after for catchment. Hillmorton and Houlton extend the residential offer eastward, part of a town of around 78,000 residents. From Rugby station, West Coast Main Line services reach Coventry in around twelve minutes and Birmingham New Street in under thirty.
