A large field, woodland to explore and a room beside Reception give Jumping Beans Pre-School its character. This is Lift Callowell's nursery provision, welcoming children from 2 to 4 years 11 months. It combines its own indoor space and kitchen facilities with access to the school's facilities, giving children a nursery base within the wider school.
Lift Callowell has no Ofsted graded rating yet.
Outdoor exploration is a concrete part of the offer: children use the woodland and large field. Inside, the nursery has its own space, with kitchen facilities alongside it. Those arrangements give the day both an indoor base and opportunities to explore beyond the room. Morning, afternoon and full-day sessions let families choose different lengths of attendance.
Communication is a stated early-years priority. The school aims to develop children's language through purposeful exchanges and experiences, connecting those foundations with later reading, writing and problem-solving. Jumping Beans also aims to encourage imagination, creativity and increasing independence. These are useful priorities for parents weighing the nursery's approach: conversation and children learning to do things for themselves matter alongside activities.
Jumping Beans has a preschool staff team within the school's wider staffing structure.
Daily hot lunches are offered as a charged extra. This gives families a meal option during nursery attendance; contact the school for current charges. For support with special educational needs or disabilities, the school's SEND coordinator can be contacted through the main office. That provides a direct route for discussing a child's needs with the relevant team.
Being beside the Reception classroom makes Jumping Beans physically part of the school. The nursery describes this proximity as helping children make the transition into school, while access to school facilities gives them contact with the wider setting.
Attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must make a separate Reception application through the normal admissions route and meet the applicable deadline. Treat familiarity with the school and securing a place as separate matters when planning the next step.
Jumping Beans opens five days a week, from 8:45am to 3pm. Morning sessions run from 8:45am to 11:45am; afternoons run from noon to 3pm. A full day covers 8:45am to 3pm, giving families three session patterns to consider.
The nursery accepts all government nursery funding. For families using just their full entitlement, some flexibility applies to collection and drop-off times. Enquiries and visits can be arranged through the school office or preschool manager, and families can register their interest. The office can be reached on 01453 762962 or at admin@cps.cbat.academy.
