Schools in Tamworth

Tamworth's 12th-century castle and the medieval Church of St Editha together give the Staffordshire town one of the more striking historic centres in the West Midlands, rising above the River Tame where the Anglo-Saxon kings of Mercia ruled during the 8th and 9th centuries. The borough's population of around 81,000 is spread across post-war estates, older brick terraces, and newer edge-of-town development lying northeast of Birmingham alongside the Coventry Canal corridor.

Dordon, near the Warwickshire border, and Edingale to the north are the school-competitive corners of Tamworth that families examine most closely when weighing catchment options. Glascote, Warton, and Wilnecote make up the southern and western residential quarters. Cross-Country trains reach Birmingham New Street in thirty minutes.
