Schools in Torquay

Devon's English Riviera resort, Torquay established itself as a fashionable destination during the early nineteenth century when the mild climate drew Victorian society visitors to the north shore of Tor Bay. The town of around 65,000 sits within the Torbay unitary authority, retaining a strong Victorian and Edwardian built character along the harbour and seafront.

Ilsham and Wellswood are the most sought-after pockets for school catchments on the southern side of town, with families competing keenly for primary places. Torre and Chelston extend the residential offer further inland. Great Western Railway links Torquay station to Exeter St Davids in around forty minutes.
