Schools in Paignton

Victorian seafront terraces, a working harbour completed in 1847, and the palatial grandeur of Oldway Mansion give Paignton a layered built character along the southern shore of Tor Bay in Devon. Around 64,000 people live here today.

The Riviera Line links Paignton station to Exeter St Davids in around an hour, with the heritage Dartmouth Steam Railway running the coastal route south to Kingswear. First mentioned in 1086, the town grew from a Celtic fishing settlement into an English Riviera resort as the railway arrived in 1859, gradually absorbing the villages of Goodrington and Preston. Goodrington is among the most sought-after pockets for school catchments along the southern edge of the bay, while Waterleat draws families competing for primary places in the residential streets inland. Marldon and Collaton St Mary extend the quieter residential hinterland to the west.
