Schools in Willenhall

On the River Tame, between Wolverhampton and Walsall in the West Midlands, Willenhall grew from a locksmith's hamlet into a market town of around 50,000 people by the 2021 Census. The lock trade defined it for centuries. As far back as 1770, 148 skilled locksmiths worked its workshops, and the town remained home to the National Union of Lock and Metal Workers from 1889 until 2004. Portobello lies to the south, where older industrial land has given way to mixed-use housing.

West Midlands Railway services from Wolverhampton station, about three miles to the west, reach Birmingham New Street in around twenty minutes. Pool Hayes has long been regarded as one of the borough's more school-competitive corners, drawing families from across New Invention and the wider town who are weighing secondary options.
