At a Glance

Tiny Trees and Nursery give Fallings Park’s youngest children their own groups within the primary school on Old Fallings Lane, Low Hill, Wolverhampton. Tiny Trees includes the Terrific for Twos provision. The groups have separate staff teams and separate email contacts, giving families a direct route to the people working with their child.

Nursery staffing includes a year leader, a higher level teaching assistant and teaching assistants. Tiny Trees also has higher level teaching assistant and teaching assistant roles.

The Nursery Day

Communication and early learning feature in the additional support available across Early Years and Key Stage 1. Elklan Language Builders, ECAT and Barrier games sit alongside Fine Motor Control groups and Early Reading. These are targeted provision, so they describe support children may access rather than a timetable for every nursery child.

Learning can extend home, too. Nursery and Tiny Trees each have home-learning resources, and families can email their child’s year leader with work to share or difficulties accessing the activities. That creates a practical link between learning at school and at home.

Care and Support

An Early Years SEND lead teacher works within the school’s wider support structure. A communication lead supports speech, language, communication and sensory needs; occupational therapy input helps staff develop strategies for sensory needs. For a child needing additional help, this brings several types of expertise into the conversation.

Support can involve individual work or small groups, with activities focused on gaps in learning. Parents receive invitations to a consultation evening each term and can arrange other meetings through the office or year-group email. Children with an EHCP have a review meeting at least annually.

The school building has one storey, with ramps and adaptations for toilet access. Parents of children with disabilities are consulted about obstacles to learning, making accessibility a matter of the individual child’s needs as well as the building.

Moving On to Reception

Attending Nursery does not guarantee a Reception place. Nursery attendance gives no priority under the September 2027 admission criteria, and families must make a separate application through the local authority’s coordinated admissions process.

For September 2027 entry, online applications open in November 2026 and close at 23:59 on 15 January 2027. Parents can rank up to five schools. This is a separate decision and deadline, even for a child already attending Nursery.

For children with SEND moving between classes, staff share information with the next teacher in advance and meet to discuss needs. Extra teacher visits or visual aids may be used where necessary. This supports the change of class; it does not alter admission rights.

Practical Information

For Tiny Trees or Nursery entry, complete the relevant consideration form and return it to the school office. Nursery families can email Nursery@fallingspark.twp.school; Tiny Trees has Tinytrees@fallingspark.twp.school. The office telephone number is 01902 558375.

Uniform includes an emerald green polo shirt, a navy sweatshirt or cardigan bearing the school logo, grey trousers or a skirt or pinafore, and black shoes. Nursery and Tiny Trees are excluded from the PE-kit requirement, keeping the clothing arrangements simpler for younger children.

Vehicle access to the site is restricted. Parents need a disabled parking badge or an invitation arranged with staff to bring a vehicle onto school premises. Pedestrians and cyclists have designated paths, and parking around Old Fallings Lane and Primrose Lane must respect residents and restrictions. Plan collection around those access rules.
