The Early Years Foundation Stage framework turns children's development into learning through play and everyday experiences. In June 2022, this curriculum took children's existing knowledge as the starting point for what came next. Staff modelled new words and extended activities when children were ready, so learning developed through connected play rather than a fixed sequence of adult-led tasks. Small-group discussions gave every child space to contribute, listen and learn about individuality and the wider community.

Relationships were a clear strength in June 2022. Staff interactions were highly positive, children sought one another out to develop ideas, and they shared and took turns without prompting. Familiar routines also supported independence: children cared for resources and helped tidy the nursery.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective at that inspection. Staff understood signs of harm or abuse, allegation procedures and how to respond to concerns about exposure to extreme views. Ofsted also found an exceptionally strong partnership with parents, alongside regular training, meetings and professional development for staff.
