Songs, rhymes and sustained conversations also gave language development several routes: repetition for toddlers, new vocabulary for older children and shared attention around stories for babies. The breadth is useful because it shows the curriculum moving between quiet concentration and energetic outdoor play rather than relying on one style of activity.

Relationships were an inspection strength. Staff knew children's interests and next steps, and the strengthened key-person system had given parents more confidence about whom to contact when that person was absent. The SENCo, staff, parents and outside professionals also worked together to identify additional help promptly and agree next steps.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective in September 2023. Staff understood risks and reporting routes, held paediatric first-aid training, used risk assessments and supervised children indoors and outdoors. Parents also reported greater confidence in the key-person arrangements, including knowing whom to contact during an absence. That clarity matters for continuity, especially for babies and toddlers whose care depends on close knowledge of routines and cues. There were still precise improvement points: recent staffing changes in the toddler room had disrupted consistency, staff did not always extend children's language for feelings, and teaching about how germs spread was uneven.

Later Ofsted compliance records matter to the overall picture. Concerns in April 2024, March 2025, February 2026 and April 2026 covered areas including supervision, premises hygiene, food arrangements, safeguarding procedures, suitability, ratios and record keeping. Each record says requirements were not being met, but also records action taken to put matters right; the provider remained registered.
