In March 2024, that approach was visible in small, concrete moments. Children remembered the number of the week and counted out the right number of pom-poms. When younger children became interested in jumping, staff added music and movement. Babies joined circle time eagerly, selected musical instruments and moved them to songs. Children could also choose freely among activities, including messy play.

Support for children with special educational needs and disabilities was another strong point. Staff worked with other agencies, shared targets and progress, used funding for individual needs and created a calming area for emotional support. Safeguarding arrangements were effective in March 2024.

Children learning English as an additional language had dual-language books and translation tools, with parents involved in the process. This is practical support: familiar language can help a child understand routines and join learning while English develops.

There is one meaningful qualification. Staff sometimes intervened too quickly during threading and glue-stick tasks, reducing children's chances to solve problems independently. Ofsted asked leaders to make support for independence more consistent.
