Relationships were a clear strength in December 2021. Most children separated happily and chose activities, while staff comforted newer children until they were ready to join in. Children behaved well, learned about kindness and confidently followed routines. Parents told the inspector that they received regular progress updates and valued the care and learning provided.

Safeguarding was effective at the inspection. Staff understood signs of abuse, wider safeguarding concerns and the routes for reporting or escalating them. The inspector nevertheless identified two practical improvements: children needed more chances to do everyday tasks independently, and adults needed to help them understand risks during play more consistently.
