Both examples connect curiosity with language, giving children time to investigate before adults extend the idea through talk and shared activity.

The registered age range runs from three months to five years. Current room organisation and the way children move between groups as they grow will affect peer relationships, familiar routines and the day-to-day experience.

Communication and inclusion were clear strengths at the July 2024 inspection. Most staff supported language skilfully, and children who might not be meeting milestones were identified quickly so staff could work with parents to seek additional support. Parents reported strong communication about their children's progress. That combination matters for families who want emerging needs noticed early and discussed clearly, rather than waiting for a formal transition point.

Adults gave children a visual language for emotions, reinforcing self-control and considerate behaviour. The wider atmosphere was settled and focused. Safeguarding arrangements were effective at the inspection.

Ofsted nevertheless asked leaders to give all staff focused professional development so interactions become consistently strong. The quality of adult support varied, although room leaders acted to reduce the effect on children. This was not a finding of weak practice across the whole team, but it meant that a child's experience could depend on which adult was nearby. Leaders therefore had a clear improvement task: build consistently strong interactions across the staff group.
