One observed ball game ended with children celebrating together after a successful throw through a net, a compact example of physical practice, confidence and friendship meeting in one activity.

Trusting staff relationships helped children feel secure at the 2023 inspection. The team adapted learning around each child's interests and existing understanding. Inspectors saw that this individual approach also benefited children who needed additional support or were learning English, giving families evidence that staff adjusted provision rather than expecting every child to follow an identical path.

Behaviour support was calm and practical in July 2023. Staff taught breathing techniques and gave children language for recognising and discussing emotions. Parents praised the caring staff and communication about learning. They also valued transition support and preparation for school, indicating that relationships extended beyond the child’s immediate activities to the handovers and changes families experience around nursery.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective in July 2023. The inspection identified one improvement point: staff should use every opportunity to deepen children's understanding of healthy practice, after explanations of why children should not talk with food in their mouths were inconsistent.

Leadership practice added another layer of stability. Regular supervision and training helped staff feel supported and valued as part of the team, while leaders monitored practice closely. For children, the practical implication is consistency: curriculum plans, communication strategies and behaviour support were being checked rather than left to individual preference.
