Little Eve's Nursery

At a Glance

Toy cars used for painting, supermarket outings and counting plates at lunch give Little Eve's Nursery an everyday, practical character. In August 2025, these experiences connected creative play, learning about the neighbourhood and early mathematics. Ordinary routines became opportunities to learn.

At its August 2025 inspection, Ofsted rated the nursery Good and found safeguarding effective. The setting has capacity for 35 children aged 3 to 60 months, at Armstrong Road in Acton.

The Nursery Experience

The early years foundation stage sets the framework for children's learning, development and care: here, its everyday expression in August 2025 included stories, creative play, movement and counting. Children explored paint by making tracks with toy cars and marks with their hands. Number songs and counting plates for lunch brought mathematics into familiar routines, while balancing on soft bricks introduced ideas about shape, size and position.

Language work also drew on repetition and conversation that month. Staff added vocabulary through questions, rhymes and stories; bilingual practitioners helped children use English alongside their home languages. This gave children more than one way to participate in conversations.

Outings in August 2025 included visits to a local supermarket, with road safety taught along the way. Children recalled road resurfacing and talked about what they had seen. International celebration days involved families and staff, introducing children to different traditions. Outdoors, equipment supported balance and coordination, while babies explored by crawling.

Care and Support

At the August 2025 inspection, Ofsted found that children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, made good progress, with targeted plans and small-group work supporting additional needs.

In August 2025, practitioners gathered information about children's interests and needs from the beginning, then worked with families and other professionals to plan support. They responded promptly when younger children needed changing or rest. Encouragement to share, help others and take turns made expectations understandable through everyday interactions.

Communication that month combined conversations, written feedback and meetings, with ideas for continuing learning at home. Children ate a healthy diet and practised handwashing. The improvement priority was to connect these routines and exercise more clearly to why healthy habits matter, rather than simply carrying them out.

Practical Information

The address is 7 - 11 Armstrong Road, Acton, London W3 7JL. The nursery operates across the year, closing for bank holidays and Christmas holidays.

In August 2025, opening hours were 8am to 6pm on weekdays. The nursery offered government-funded childcare and received additional funding for disadvantaged children at that time.

Things to Consider

  • Healthy habits. The August 2025 improvement priority concerned children's understanding of health. On a visit, ask how staff now explain the benefits of exercise and hygiene during everyday activities.
  • Planning your child's attendance. Year-round operation includes bank holiday and Christmas closures. How would the nursery's booking arrangements fit your required days and hours?

The Verdict

Little Eve's suits families who value learning through ordinary experiences: painting with toy cars, exploring the neighbourhood and using lunch routines for counting. Its August 2025 account also gives useful detail about home-language support and communication with parents. The Good judgement sits alongside a clear improvement priority: helping children understand the reasons behind healthy routines.
