Complete Sports at Cannon Lane Primary School is out-of-school care for children aged four to 11, rather than a day nursery. The June 2024 inspection found that the provision met requirements and that safeguarding arrangements were effective. Its clearest strength was purposeful activity: children chose sports confidently, spent sustained time outdoors and also made up their own games.

In June 2024, archery, football, table tennis and table football gave children several ways to move, practise coordination and play together. Badminton offered a sharper example of how staff taught through play. Younger children were shown how to hold a racket, then encouraged to keep trying until they sent the shuttlecock over the net.

This is wraparound provision, so the Early Years Foundation Stage applies to eligible younger children through play, learning, development and care rather than a nursery-room curriculum. Staff planned from children's interests, adjusted support for different stages of development and used games to extend skills. Counting attempts at kicking a ball into a goal, for example, brought mathematics into a sports activity.

Relationships were a strong part of the June 2024 picture. Children settled quickly after being collected from class, talked with staff about their school day and built friendships through cooperative play. Younger children had a key person to turn to for reassurance. Staff supervised indoor and outdoor activity closely, while praise helped children persist with difficult tasks.

Parents received messages from school as well as updates about club events and changes. In June 2024, staff also sought parents' views and used their ideas. Snacks at that visit included fruit, vegetables and rice cakes, with children bringing water bottles and learning why hydration matters during exercise.

The club operates at Cannon Lane School, Cannonbury Avenue, Pinner, HA5 1TS. In June 2024, the term-time pattern comprised breakfast club from 7.45am to 8.45am and after-school club from 3.10pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The holiday club then ran on weekdays from 8.30am to 5.30pm.
