Care, Challenge and Connect give Meadow Bank its stated character. Its nursery takes children from age 3 within the primary school on Fearnville Drive, Bradford. For families choosing a first school setting, the distinction matters: nursery belongs to the school, but joining it and securing a later Reception place are separate decisions.

Children's development is tracked through cumulative records showing whether they are working at the level expected for their age. That gives conversations about learning a specific focus: how an individual child is developing, rather than simply which activities they have completed.
Support for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) follows a school-wide structure. The class teacher is the first contact for concerns about progress, with the SEND coordinator involved when difficulties continue. Individual provision plans record additional interventions, giving families a concrete basis for discussing the help their child receives.
Before a child with an identified SEND starts, the school works with professionals who already know them. This allows existing information about their needs to inform support in the new setting. Speech and Language Therapy and local authority specialist services are among the support the school can draw on; involvement depends on the child's needs.
Medical care also has an individual planning process. Where a pupil has a medical need, parents and relevant health professionals contribute to a care plan that is discussed with the staff involved. Prescribed medication can be administered where necessary, with parental agreement and a signed consent form. Staff include people trained in paediatric first aid.
Physical access provision across the school includes ramps, a hygiene room and accessible toilets. Safeguarding concerns can be raised by phone or email with the safeguarding team, giving parents a direct route to the adults responsible for child protection.
Nursery attendance gives no priority for Reception and does not guarantee a place. Families must make a separate application through Bradford Council at www.bradford.gov.uk/admissions, following the normal application timetable. Treat this as a fresh application, even if your child already attends Meadow Bank nursery.
For admissions in the academic year 2026-27, this separation applies explicitly. Familiarity with the school does not change the allocation rules.
Transition support is a different matter. Across the school, children moving between years have opportunities to meet their next teachers and spend time working in their new classrooms. Information is passed to the receiving teachers, and a personalised transition plan can be put in place where it would help. These arrangements support adjustment; they confer no admissions advantage.
